kid in Virginia last week that got reemed by the school administrator's wife for asking for a snow day needs to move out here to the 'Left Coast'. A whopping .8" (yes, that's
point 8 inches - as in less than one inch) caused some of our local schools to cancel school today. Nevermind that it wasn't enough snow to stick to the rain-soaked roads. Nevermind that it quit snowing by 5pm Sunday night and for the most part, the remaining vestiges were washed from our lawns by the hail and rain overnight. I accept that it was the most snow we've seen here in 15 years and even I was amused for a solid 30 seconds yesterday, but what possible reason is that for closing schools?
